What a wonderful weekend at the Red Oak Winery.
Three days of Art, Music and Wine! In the beautiful Door County, they are just starting to move into tourism season and one of the most popular on the “things to do” list is to go wine tasting… and a couple weeks back my girlfriends and I did just that.
Our first stop was the Red Oak Winery in Sturgeon Bay… and let me say… we had an absolute blast there. Our tasting host was Jeff that day and he was incredible. Extremely knowledgeable on the product with a super fun personality… every thing that makes a good wine tasting fun. Not to mention the wines… I am obsessed…. I am in love with the Old Vine Zinfandel! I dropped by card on the way out… and lets just say that was the start of our relationship.
I have since been there a couple of times painting “live” as they share wine with the customers passing through and enjoying the live music by Coyote Ghost. Last weekend was a 3 day tour with them as I painted and was even able to hold a class. Class attendees came from as far as Wausau and to as close as living in Sturgeon Bay. What a wonderful group of painters and the roof was full of laughter,,, and absolute great time. And let’s talk about their creations… Beautiful!
At the beginning of each class – I almost always hear someone say… I am not going to be able to do this – but by the end… they are always pleasantly surprised by their accomplishments. (this class it was my Aunt Judy… lol)
After we wrapped up a wonderful Saturday night – I was back in the winery Sunday to share what painting with wine looks like as they enjoyed their tastings of all of the incredible wine,
It was an incredible weekend and was actually a little tough to say good bye for now… The entire tasting staff is just a group of wonderful people who made these last trips so welcoming. Peg, Bill, Jeff and Leslie…. thank you for your incredible hospitality! I look forward to seeing you soon!
Peace ~ Love ~ Art … and Wine
